Horton Foxes Under 11's - GJFL Supplementary Cup Winners 2009

On the 26th April in a thrilling game against Leeds City Juniors, the U11 boys were victorious to become supplementary cup winners 2009.

It was a tense game, with Leeds City Juniors taking the lead in the first half. The foxes battled hard against a strong defence to equalise in the second half from a goal after a great run from Josh Thompson.

Unfortunately, extra time resulted in stalemate, despite the Foxes being camped in the Leeds City half for most of the match.

So, the game went to penalties and after a couple of misses from both sides, Lewis Wood slotted home his penalty to give the Horton Foxes the win they deserved.

A great game of football from two teams, a great day, great support from both sides and a great drummer to keep everyone entertained..... Well done the Foxes.!!!!!

Horton Foxes Under 14's -League Runners Up

The U14 squad have had a tremendous first season and after a thrilling game on 26th April against Bramley Phoenix, resulting in 2-1 defeat, the Foxes ended as runners up to the champions Bramley.

The day began with both teams level on points at the top of the league, so the game was always going to be a hard fought match.

The foxes took the lead in the first half with an excellent header from leading goal scorer Danny Moralee. A second goal came shortly afterwards, once again from Danny, but the referee controversially disallowed it.

In the second half, Bramley pounced on a momentary lapse of concentration by the foxes and scored their equalliser from 20 yards.

With six minutes left on the clock, it looked like the teams were going to share the glory, when Bramley had a shot on goal again from 20 yards, which nestled in the bottom corner.

The foxes continued to push forward and had numerous opportunities to draw level again, but the gods were against them this time.

The foxes team did not deserve to lose this game, but showed true determination and should be proud to finish runners up.

Well done The Foxes !!!!!
